  3. This looks very organised. Keeping a record is a good idea.

  4. Disappointed as well as surprised regarding your comments regarding the eggs you received from riverside quails, having used Joy Brown for my eggs on 2 occations i have found my eggs in perfect condition, further more the help and advice from Joy really improved my hatch rates, as i’m a quail newbie…lol, i experiences similar problems with my first hatch, curled toes indicate chicks too big for there shell (incubator too hot) and dead in shell after pipping would indicate the humidity is low and or not consistant. Hope this post is of some use to you.

    All the best

I’m sure Joy has a great service, and I am very aware that Christmas isn’t the best time to be buying hatching eggs too.

Thank you for the bit about curled toes, I had never managed to work out what causes this, I’ve just bought a new temperature gauge which should hopefully sort this out.

  6. Riverside Quail is now under new ownership since Joy retired a few years ago.
I am the new breeder and supplier of eggs and would be very happy to hear from anyone who needs eggs supplied in the future :)
I also have a book being published in the spring called Practical Quail Keeping…. please keep an eye out for it :)

    Many thanks
